Plot
A supernatural tale set on death row in a Southern prison, where gentle giant John Coffey possesses the mysterious power to heal people’s ailments. When the cell block’s head guard, Paul Edgecomb, recognizes Coffey’s miraculous gift, he tries desperately to help stave off the condemned man’s execution.

2025年万圣节 看到一半才发现这是个非常适合万圣节看的神怪片。
因为和肖申克的救赎有一样的原著和导演，难免不对比一下他们。我更喜欢这部一些。因为看到最后我没有挑出太多槽点。
片中有许多宗教元素，对于死刑的反对也符合基督教的思想，但是这是一部基督教宣传片吗？我觉得并不是，甚至可以说编剧对宗教是有些不敬和嘲讽的。比如选了个有点simple 的黑人天使；最后“天使”都干不动了，想提早回天堂退休；还比如天使说的

Love 更是基督教的核心理念，似乎作者就是在直接批评宗教为首的各种 Institution。
导演传达给我了一个信念：(绝大部分时候) 人的良心就足够帮助我们识别善恶，做出正确的决定了。甚至可以说，一些故事、传说、宗教也都是我们人自己根据自己的良心创造出来的。人自己才是最大的。像主角 Paul (Hanks) 在最后要行刑之前的感受一样，when it feels wrong, it is wrong.
另外 Tom Hanks 的演技确实一流，各种小表情，让很多平淡的镜头都变得有趣了。
